Anielska Diaz
About Me
Email: adiaz@gatorsmarchforbabies.org
Hi I am Anielska, I am currently serving as Panhellenic Recruitment Director, and I am from Miami, FL. My campus involvement includes serving as Dance Marathon Family Relations Captain, as a Pi Chi for the Panhellenic Council, and as Director of Community Relations for the Jr. Panhellenic Council. I am also a member of the Pre-Professional Service Organization. I am very committed to volunteering in the health field, and was selected as an AmeriCorps Student in Service for my dedication to service. I hope to attend medical school after graduating and later enter the field of pediatrics.
I decided to get involved with Gators March for Babies after shadowing a doctor in the NICU during a pre-medical summer program at Columbia University this past summer. I knew it would be awhile until I could directly help these babies, so I decided to get involved in this organization so that I could help in other ways.

Leon Evans, Jr
About Me
Email: levans@gatorsmarchforbabies.org
My name is Leon Evans Jr. (most of my friends call me BJ) and I'm a second-year finance major on the pre-health track. I'm involved with Project Makeover, E-Fair, and the Department of Anesthesiology working in the research lab. My hobbies are basketball, football, running, reading and swimming. Some of my future goals include getting into medical school, studying abroad, and opening up my own hospital in another country. One weird fact about me is that I used to live in Alaska when I was a kid. I also have an unhealthy obsession with skittles.
I got involved with GMFB because I love the idea of being in something physically active that promotes awareness of such a prevalent medical issue.

About Me

Hi, I 'm Helen and I'm from Darien, Connecticut. I'm a sophomore and a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. My sister attended UF Levin College of Law and that is why I decided to apply to UF. My parents, sister, and brother all still live in CT and I miss them a lot! I love to go to the pool, go out to eat, read- anything that I can do to spend more time with my friends and sisters!
I decided to get involved in GMFB because I was inspired by my friends from home who interned at Tiny Miracles, an organization devoted to helping mothers that give birth prematurely, and because I saw all the wonderful work that March of Dimes has done and believe that I can really help and make a difference.

Becca Turkel
About Me
Email: bturkel@gatorsmarchforbabies.org
Hello! My name is Rebecca Turkel (Becca), and I am an energetic and bubbly Advertising major from Tampa, Florida. I absolutely love the beach, traveling, crafting, hanging out with friends, and volunteering in my community. My family and friends mean the world to me, and I am a part of the wonderful sisterhood of Alpha Delta Pi here at the University of Florida.
The reason I decided to get involved in Gators March for Babies, is because I cannot imagine seeing a cause so valuable and not doing my part to help. Life is the most precious gift in the world, and marching to save the lives of premature babies is the least I can do to support these babies and families.

Julia DiCesare
About Me
Email: jdicesare@gatorsmarchforbabies.org
I am a freshman at the University of Florida, majoring in psychology and minoring in business. I currently am a member of UF's Honors program, an officer in Alpha Delta pi sorority, a member of Campus Crusades for Christ, and College Republicans. Outside of academics and campus life, I love traveling, beach days and preforming missions work. In high school, I held multiple leadership positions such as student body president for three years, was crowned homecoming queen, and graduated as Valedictorian. Gators March for Babies stole my heart in high school when I worked with March of Dimes in my hometown, Lakeland Florida, and could not have loved the organization more. March of Dimes was not just a way to give back to the community, it fights for a cause that is very dear to my heart; improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The importance of this cause has been evident my whole life, seeing as I have an older brother who faces a disability due to a birth defect.
My hope is to spread awareness, knowing that 70% of prematurity’s can be prevented, and help change the lives of others who may be experiencing similar issues in the future. It is our duty to get involved now and spread the word about prevention, helping one baby and family at a time!
