Elizabeth Macari walks because...

The first time I heard about Gators March for Babies was when I got to UF. I saw signs around campus for it with babies’ faces on it and I knew I had to get involved. As soon as I decided on nursing I knew I needed to get involved with their March for Babies efforts. The College of Nursing is very passionate about March for Babies and that passion radiates to all of the participants, which is why I got involved. In addition to many of the personal experiences nursing student have with March of Dimes, many of the clinical experiences we have each week motivate us to participate. For me, Gators March for Babies is another way I can give back my time and efforts to those who I try to help everyday as a nurse.

What volunteers say

This is a serious issue, and we need to raise people's awareness about it ... The prematurity campaign is designed to put the issue of prematurity front and center, to educate with a couple of simple facts that there are a lot of babies that don't come home, but the March of Dimes is here to make sure that more do.
